Villa Tobola del Mar is one of the newest villas in Tankah, with 2370 squ feet of interior space, and just completed in Dec 2015. This pretty Caribbean home is located on the west side of the road with direct access to the beach and the ocean by way of the sandy path in front of it.
Walk through Tobola's pretty gardens and enter into a large and spacious open plan living and dining area with a well equipped modern kitchen. On this main floor, there is a large dining table for 8, a kitchen with granite counter tops, and an island breakfast bar that seats 3. The living area has comfortable seating with a flat screen TV with Satellite programing, and off this floor are 2 comfortable bedrooms which share one large bathroom with shower by way of "jack and jill" doors.
Step through the large sliding doors out to the pool side, where you will find a large pool surrounded by lush tropical gardens and lawns, a large thatched palapa with hammocks for snoozing the afternoon away, and table and chairs for al fresco dining and gathering. One of our favorite features is the fire pit at the bottom of the garden, which is a very cool place to hang out together in the evenings.
Access the upper floor via an external staircase up to a large terrace with ocean views, hammocks, and seating, covered by a large palapa. On this floor you will find the master bedroom which is furnished with a king sized bed, and has a private bathroom, and private ocean facing terrace.
Tobola del Mar is actually a duplex, however the other side of the property is not a rental home, and the owners who are rarely there, are quiet and very respectful of guests when they are.
During the summer months, the beach in front is one of the best places on the coast to watch endangered sea turtles nest and hatch! The beach is part of the rock headland between the Tankah Bay and Soliman Bay. On rough days, or if you prefer a sandier water access, there is the more protected beach just 500m away on Tankah Bay. The Manatee Cenote is just 500m away at Tankah Bay also, and its crystal clear waters are a fabulous place for snorkeling, scuba diving, kayaking, and paddle boarding! The fresh water from the cenote runs through a tunnel under the road, and you can see it bubbling up in the ocean right in front of the Casa Cenote Restaurant.
For more amenities, the town of Tulum is just 7 miles to the south of Tankah, where you will find large supermarkets, a variety of restaurants, bars, and boutiques, the famous Tulum Mayan Ruins, and also Tulum beach, named as one of the worlds 5 most beautiful beaches.
If you are looking for a great beach house with a lovely Caribbean feel at a great price point, then Tobala del Mar is the home for you!
